Attempt #1= not a total failure

Last night I had my first attempt at the sports world. The plan was that Evan (my boyfriend) and I were going to go out to dinner and then to a sports bar to watch the Red Sox game. After much deliberation we decided to go to Toro in the South End for dinner and then Champions at the Marriott Hotel (the ultimate sports bar).

Toro was incredible! When we arrived, around 7:30, the place was packed and we had to wait for a table. So Evan and I grabbed a drink at the bar. I had a glass of house wine and Evan had a 1$ pint of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer. Once we sat, Evan and I split a pitcher of Sangria and a bunch of small tapas including the house corn, bone marrow and a chickpea with chorizo and egg dish. All the tapas were rich and delicious.

As we were paying our bill, I received a phone call from my mom saying that her and my dad were on their way into the city to walk around the Fisherman's Feast in the North End. A little disappointed, I agreed to meet my parents in the North End for the feast. Luckily, Evan said not to worry we could get game updates on his phone. "Oh," I thought, "thank god we won't miss the game." However, I don't know about you, but I find sporting events somewhat boring on TV, never mind on a tiny screen where I can barely see what is going on.

After an unsuccessfully attempted to try and find a parking spot in the N. End, we all agreed that a drink was needed. We decided to drive over to Champions to have a drink and watch the end of the Red Sox game. Champions is a massive sports bar with multiple TVs, so you can watch many games at once. Champions also has a very large beer list including craft and foreign beers. However, once we parked and walked we had missed the game. Oh well, not a total failed attempt, at least the Red Sox won!

I am off to run 7 miles( I am training for a 1/2 marathon in October) and then to brunch in Cambridge. Maybe I will be able to catch a game later? Guess I should find out what time the game is! Have a great Sunday!
